Array Objects on Curves - Building Professional Tools
Jan 26, 2024This lesson is a bit of a 2-in-1.
Primarily you're going to learn to combine several of our previous lesson outputs into one higher level tool which can array instances along splines as well as deform them to splines along with a few helpful options being exposed.
The secondary lesson here is in building professional tools. This is the kind of node group that I would create for my team as a technical artist working in a studio. Everything from how we build different parts of the group, to how we arrange inputs on the group node, and why we choose to abstract the tool to the level we do.
This is a tool for creating roof tiles, bridges, paths, zips, necklaces, and much more. The workflow covers any spline-based array type of asset.

The tutorial builds upon the output of three previous sessions:
I hope you enjoy the session! This is a bit of a longer one but it's the length it needs to be to fit in this much information.
Good luck!
